STOVE PROBLEMS
WON’T TURN ON/IGNITE
Whenever an electric stove or oven will not turn on, make sure it is plugged in and the circuit breakers are not flipped off. When your gas stove or oven will not ignite be sure to check the pilot light before calling us. When you do need us to come out for this problem, we usually need to repair or replace an oven burner igniter, bake and broil element, surface element, or the infinite switch. We carry the parts to do this job for all major oven and stove brands.
BURNER/OVEN WON’T HEAT
When the oven will not heat up, you typically have a bake element that is broken, or an oven sensor that is malfunctioning. And, when a burner will not get hot, the problem is usually with the burner switch or with the terminal block. These are all repairs that will take an hour or two once we arrive on our service call.
TIMER/PROGRAM ISSUES
The program settings and timer on your oven and stove are run by the control board. This part needs to be replaced when it no longer works. We carry control boards for Sears, Kenmore, LG, GE, and all other major brands. Both the boards and our labor are covered by a warranty.
OVEN IS TOO HOT
Be careful when your oven gets too hot. You may think the only problem is that your food is burned, but this can be a dangerous problem as well. So, call us right away for same-day repairs for a too-hot oven. The trouble is usually caused by a sensor that is not working correctly or a broken thermostat. Turn off the stove and call right away this potentially dangerous problem.
IGNITER WON’T LIGHT
When the igniter glows but does not light up, there is typically a damaged safety valve, electronic control, temperature sensor, or surface igniter. We can check this out and repair or replace the offending part on a short service visit the same day that you call us for help.
DOOR WON’T OPEN
A problem we have seen a few times on the new self-cleaning ovens is that they run through their cleaning cycle and then the door will not open! Call us if this happens to you and we can come the same day. Thermostat problems, damaged seals, or a bad door latch are all possible culprits when this happens.
